Concerned Citizens
For A
Better West Covina

Community Forum

  • Is Big League Dreams a community facility or business venture?
Who pays if the park falls short of predicted revenue?
The Big League Dreams’ only obligation to the City is for the operation and
maintenance of the Big League Dreams Park. The City has never provided
any information about what happens if or when the adventure fails. Under the
present contract it appears that the City would then be responsible for the
operation and maintenance. Big League Dreams can just walk away without any
financial penalty and we the citizens of West Covina will have an additional
    burden to carry.
  • What is the record of the 2006-2007 City Council?
Council members receive donations, residents receive rate hike!
Abel Helou is the developer who wants to buy the undeveloped area of
Shadow Oak Park.  (They proposed 60 homes at first)
Abel Helou built the housing on the former Shakespeare park site.
  • Council members fund raising versus their voting record.
Is there a correlation between how council members vote and the donations they receive from donors? Make a decision for yourself after reviewing a summary of who and how much they received from donors. (details)
